Terms of Service
The rules for using TelBooks.
1. About these terms
These terms apply to your use of TelBooks, an online accounting and GST service. TelBooks is a product of [Taxtel legal name], [registered address] ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using TelBooks you agree to these terms.
2. Your account and your organizations
You must give accurate details when you register and keep your password secret. You are responsible for what is done through your account.
An account (a person) can belong to more than one organization. The person who creates an organization becomes its owner and is responsible for who else is invited to it and what roles they hold.
You may create the number of organizations your plan allows. Do not share a login between people; invite each person with their own email address instead.
3. Roles and approvals
Each organization has roles (for example owner, manager, senior accountant, junior accountant, auditor). What a person can do depends on their role in that organization. Entries can require approval before they count in the books.
Where an organization has nobody else who is allowed to approve an entry, the approver may approve their own work. TelBooks marks such an entry as self-approved so that it is visible later. The organization decides who approves and is responsible for its own controls.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use TelBooks for anything unlawful, or to record transactions you know to be false or fictitious;
- attempt to break into, overload or disrupt the service or other customers' data;
- upload files containing malware, or content you have no right to upload;
- resell or provide TelBooks to others as your own service without our written agreement.
5. Your accounting data
You own the accounting data and documents you put into TelBooks. You give us permission to store and process them only as needed to run the service for you, as described in our privacy policy.
You are responsible for the accuracy and completeness of what you enter, scan or import, including figures read from scanned documents or bank statements, which you should check before you rely on them.
6. Not professional advice
TelBooks is software. It is not a substitute for professional advice. Responsibility for GST returns, income tax, audit and other statutory compliance stays with you and your own accountant or advisor. Reports and calculations are tools to help you; please check them before filing or relying on them.
7. Availability
We work to keep TelBooks available, but we do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may carry out maintenance, and parts of the service may sometimes be unavailable. We take regular backups, but you should keep your own copies of important records (reports and exports are available inside TelBooks).
8. Fees and GST
Paid plans are charged as shown on the pricing page or in your order. Prices exclude GST, which is added where applicable. [billing and payment terms, e.g. payment method, renewal, late payment]
9. Suspension and termination
You may stop using TelBooks and cancel at any time as described in the refund and cancellation policy.
We may suspend or end access if you break these terms, if payment is overdue, or if we must do so by law. Where we reasonably can, we will tell you first. [notice period before suspension for non-payment]
What happens to your data after cancellation is described in the refund and cancellation policy.
10. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, loss of profit, or penalties or interest levied by any tax authority, arising from your use of TelBooks. Our total liability for any claim is limited to [limit, e.g. the fees you paid in the 12 months before the claim]. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will tell you about material changes [how, e.g. by email or a notice inside TelBooks, and how many days ahead]. If you keep using TelBooks after a change takes effect, you accept the updated terms.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts at [governing city for disputes] have jurisdiction over disputes, subject to any right you have under law.
